Management

Prof. Dr. Jan Menne, M.D.
serves as the managing director of the company and department head for metabolic diseases and hypertension. He studied medicine in Berlin and Boston (USA) with a DAAD fellowship. After graduation he worked in different teaching hospitals in Berlin, Leeds (UK) and Hannover and has specialised in internal medicine and nephrology. Since 1999, he is focused in the physiological analysis of animal models with diabetes and hypertension.

Dr. Nelli Shushakova, Ph.D.
serves as Director of Science of the company overlooking all customer projects. She studied biology and has a broad experience in animal experiments, molecular biology and immunology.

Advisers

Prof. Dr. Hermann Haller, M.D.
Cofounder of Phenos, is director of the department of nephrology and head of the department of internal medicine at the Medical School Hannover. Before he was the co-ordinator for cardiovascular research at the Max-Delbrück-Center for Molecular medicine, Berlin-Buch. He has extensive experience in the field of animal research and has published around 400 articles. He is most known for his work on signal transduction and hypertension. He is a member of several project advisory boards of Astra-Zeneca, Bayer, Boehringer-Ingelheim, Novartis, Roche, and Sankyo.

Prof. Dr. Hansjoachim Hackbarth
Serves as auditor of Phenos lab animal welfare. He is the former head of the Institute of Animal Welfare and Behaviour at Veterinary School, Hannover, Germany and author of different books about animal protection rights.
